Bagaha : The 62.5 km long Paniyahawa -Tamakuhi  via Dhanaha Railways Project along Bihar -Uttar Pradesh border, the foundation of which was laid by the then Railways Minister Lalu Prasad in February  2007, is progressing at terribly slow pace allegedly due negligence of revenue officials of West Champaran district.

Manorma Devi, Mukhia, Semra-Labdeha panchayat under Piparasi Circle (Anchal) in West Champaran district, says that for  construction of railway line along the border, land acquisition work was completed  in 2008-2009. But, Revenue officials of Piparasi Anchal had rehabilitated about 25 Gandak flood affected families on the acquired land giving them homestead  parchas.

The Mukhia said that the rail work started in 2018-2019 and ever since the rail project authorities have been requesting the   officials ranging from District Magistrate, West Champaran, to the Circle Officer, Piparasi, to remove the families settled on the acquired land but of no avail.

JD(U) MP from Valmikinagar Baidyanath Mahto has written to senior officials asking them to take stern action against the revenue officials concerned.
