DPS Bokaro student Abhilasha secures 18th rank at CSE Exam

Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : Delhi Public School (Bokaro), Jharkhand, once again had a proud moment with two of its former students making it to the top 50 at the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2017 conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

The announcement of UPSC CSE Exam results recently great cheer to the DPS family with Abhilasha Abhinav-18 Rank (2006-07 batch), Abhilash Baranwal-44 Rank (2006-07 batch) and Jai Kishan 768 Rank (2008-09 batch), cracking the coveted exam.

Abhilash Baranwal, who hails from Lalpania in  Bokaro district, cleared IIT and went to ISM Dhanbad to pursue Petroleum Engineering and later joined Oil India Limited in Assam. His father is an Electrical Executive Engineer and mother is a housewife. His elder brother is a mechanical engineer turned entrepreneur. He visited his Alma mater on May 3, 2018, and spoke to the students of Class 12 and said that goal of chasing the UPSC dream should not be based on reasons like fame or power, but it needs to be layered by strong conviction towards selfless service to humanity.

He said, “As I came to DPS Bokaro for my 10+2, I gained confidence for dreaming big. Cleared IIT and went into ISM Dhanbad. Got placed in Oil India Limited and came to Assam in 2011 itself. Coming to Assam has been the catalyst in my involvement in CSE preparation. I met people who were preparing and they encouraged me to take a plunge.”

Speaking about his education and his success, he said that he has always been a topper in academics and participated in debate and was very inquisitive and valued time. He mentioned that DPS Bokaro ensures a peaceful environment for study and helps the students in making concentrated efforts. Making a special mention about Director and Principal DPS Bokaro Hemlata S Mohan, he said that Ma’am empathises with students’ problem and her guidance was immense for all of us.

Talking about his motto, he said Education, Health and Welfare of the senior citizen would be his priority. In his message to the young aspirants, he suggested them to give thir 100 %.  Hemlata S. Mohan, Director and Principal DPS Bokaro expressed her happiness on the achievement of the DPS Bokaro students.

It is worth mentioning that for the last few years students of DPS Bokaro were proving their mettle at this coveted examination. They include Aman Kumar, Rohan Kumar Jha, Ravi Kumar, Ajay Prakash, Rahul Kumar Sinha, Chandra Mohan Thakur, Saagar Srivastava, Manish Vijay, Nitish Kumar Singh, Kumar Gaurav, Riya Kejriwal, Anil Kumar and Shashi Prakash Singh.
