DPS Bokaro starts Measles – Rubela vaccination campaign

Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : Dr Hemlata S Mohan, Director & Principal, DPS Bokaro, along with several dignitaries including Bokaro Civil Surgeon on July 26, 2018, inaugurated a mega Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign for DPS and Deepansh (School run for the underprivileged) school children to eradicate measles and rubella.It is the first among Bokaro schools to initiate health campaign

Hundreds of children from class 6 to 10 of the school were vaccinated which was supervised by team of doctors and other officials of District administration.

Besides, the Chief Guest, Bokaro Civil Surgeon Dr Soban Murmu, others present on the occasion included Dr Amritanshu, UNICEF, New Delhi, Dr Anoop, WHO, Dr Uttam Kumar, Government of Jharkhand, Dr Sujit Singh, Dr Sanjay Singh, Dr Celin Tuddu and Dr K K Thakur.

“Under the Measles-Rubella (MR) campaign, all children in the target age group (between 9 months and less than 15 years) will be given a single shot of MR vaccination irrespective of their previous measles/rubella vaccination status or measles/rubella disease status. The campaign will cover public and private sector settings,” said the Civil Surgeon Dr Murmu.

Spreading awareness about the MR, Dr Hemlata S Mohan urged everyone to be the part of the health campaign to get rid of these diseases at the grassroot level.
