Patna: Armed criminals gunned down a medical practitioner Dr Afzal Ali near Digha ITI under Digha police station in Patna district on Friday evening and escaped on a four-wheeler that was parked nearby. Locals said that Dr Ali, Chief Medical Officer, ESI, was on way to his residence, about three km away, from his clinic located in ITI, Digha, area on his two-wheeler. As Dr. Ali reached in front of Digha ITI, the assailants who were waiting for him, pumped bullets at him killing him on the spot. As the news of the killing spread in the locality, the residents blocked Digha-Danapur near the spot and placed burning tyres on the road. Police reached the spot and were trying to pacify the people.
