Doctor arrested for taking liquor granted bail

Ara: The court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ara,  on Tuesday granted bail to the doctor and his compounder who were arrested for consuming liquor late Saturday evening.

Bhojpur police had arrested a doctor Dr Shatrughan Prasad, incharge medical officer of Primary Health Centre, Kesath, in Buxar district and his compounder Anil Prasad from Nawada locality under Nawada Police Station, Ara, on  late Saturday evening for allegedly consuming liquor.

Narcotics smugglerstaken on police remand : Bhojpur police took all the three arrested narcotics smugglers on remand for three days for interrogation. Police are trying to bust the network of narcotics smugglers in the area. Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh said that three narcotics smugglers, Krishna Kumar alias Amrendra Kumar, Md. Riyaz and his son Md. Javed were arrested on Thursday and also seized about 1.5 kg of narcotics. After their arrest, police had applied in the court for their remand. The court allowed their petition on Monday. The smugglers spilled beam and revealed several secrets related to narcotics smuggling.

The SP said that Krishna Kumar, son of Kameshwar Prasad of village Koil under Charpokhari police station had brought the consignment form Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh and got down from the 19322 Dn express at  Ara railway station under Danapur rail division of East Central Railway after pulling alarm chain. The police arrested him along with 500 gram of narcotics when he was hiring a three wheeler outside Ara railway station. On the basis of information given by him, police arrested Md. Riyaz and his son Md. Javed from C K Road locality under Town police station and also seized about one kg of narcotics from their house. The SP said Krishna Kumar is very poor and lives in Shivganj locality under Town police station. He was enticed into the white powder business and was used as carrier merely for Rs 9000 a month. He said Krishna Kumar had to give the consignment of Md. Riyaz and Md. Javed.
