Saharsa : Former JD(U) president Sharad Yadav, who was on August 12, 2017, removed from the post of  leader of party’s ten-member group in the Rajya Sabha (RS) for opposing party president and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s decision to join hands with the BJP, said that the post of the leader of the party in the RS was not an important one. I do not regret losing the post, Sharad Yadav said.

Sharad reached Saharsa on August 12 on a two-day visit of Kosi region. He stopped at several places en route Saharsa to inform the people how CM Nitish Kumar had betrayed the manadate given to the Grand Alliance in November 2015 assembly polls by joining hands with the NDA breaking the alliance comprising JD(U), RJD and Congress.

He was accorded warm welcome at several places by the RJD and Congress workers by raising slogans against CM Nitish Kumar. Saharsa District JD(U) president Dhanik Lal Mukhia accompanied Sharad Yadav at every place he visited. Addressing the locals on Shankar Chowk Temple Complex, Sharad said that he had to stop at hundred places en route Saharsa from Patna to speak to the people.

Meanwhile, the local RJD and Congress leaders have demanded resignation of CM Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi holding them responsible for diversion of over  Rs 600 crore government fund into an NGO’s account.
