Muzaffarpur : Muzaffarpur DM Dharmendra Singh on June 11, 2017, ordered an inquiry into the irregularities into allotment of fund and their utilisation under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY) in the district. The DM said that the probe would first cover 60 panchayats under Meenapur, Motipur and Sakra blocks of the district and later on cover the remaining 13 blocks. There are 16 blocks in Muzaffarpur district.
The DM said that fund was sanctioned to the beneficiaries but they in connivance with the middlemen allegedly misappropriated the fund. He said that irregularity had also been detected in the selection of beneficiaries. An extensive inquiry would be conducted in the 60 panchayats of Meenapur, Motipur and Sakra blocks and those involved in the racket would be punished. The DM said that the irregularities committed by some BDOs and employees of Indira Awas Yojna has come to surface and stern action would be taken against them after the probe.
