Patna : World No 1 Novak Djokovic, 31, Serbia, and World No 3 Alexander Zverev, 21, Germany, and World No 8 Dominic Thiem, 25, Austria, entered the Round of 32 of ATP India Wells Masters at California, USA, on March 10, 2019.
Top seed Djokovic beat qualifier and World No 128 Bjorn Frantangelo, 25, USA, 7-6, 6-2 in the second round. Djokovic broke Fratangelo’s service thrice in the match while the latter broke his service once. Fratangelo fired 6 Aces in the match to 3 by Djokovic. Fratangelo, however, committed 5 double faults. Thiem beat World No 77 Jordan Thompson, 24, Australia, 6-4, 7-5 in the 2nd round. Thiem broke Thompson’s service thrice in the match while the latter broke his service once. Both the players won 3 games each in a row.
World No 91 Albert Ramos-Vinolas, 31, Spain, upset World No 16 Marco Cecchinato, 26, Italy, 6-4, 6-2 in the second round. Vinolas broe Cecchinato’s service thrice in the match besides winning 3 games in a row. Cecchinato committed 4 double faults to 2 by Vinolas. Vinolas will face World No 19 Gael Monfils, 32, France, in the Round of 32.
