Djokovic to face Goffin in Wimbledon QFs, Federer to face Nishikori

Koilakh (Madhubani, Bihar) : World No 1 and top seed Novak Djokovic, Serbia, will face World No 23 David Goffin, Belgium, in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon Championships at All England Club, London, UK, on July 10, 2019. Defending champion Djokovic brushed aside World No 66 Ugo Humbert, 21, France, in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 in the 4th round on July 9, 2019, night. Goffin beat World No 37 Fernando Verdasco, Spain, in the 4th round.

Second seed and eight-times champion Roger Federer, Switzerland, will face World No 7 Kei Nishikori, 29, Japan, in the QFs. Winner of 20 Grand Slam singles title Federer demolished 17th seed Matteo Berrettini, 23, Italy,  6-1, 6-2, 6-2 in the fourth round. Nishikori beat World No 58 Mikhail Kukushkin, 31, Kazakhstan, in the 4th round.

Third seed and World No 2 Rafael Nadal, Spain, will face World 65 Sam Querrey, 31, USA, in the quarter-finals on July 10. Two-times champion Nadal swept past World No 69 Joao Sousa, Portugal, 6-2, 6-2, 6-2 in the QFs. Querrey beat World No 94 Tennys Sandgren, 27, USA, in the 4th round.

World No 26 Guido Pella, Argentina, will face World No 22 Roberto Bautista Agut, Spain, in the quarter-finals. Pella beat World No 17 Milos Raonic, Canada, in a five-set thriller in the 4th round while Agut beat World No 32 Benoit Paire, France.
