Patna : Top seed and eight-time champion Novak Djokovic, 33, Serbia, 3rd seed Dominic Thiem, 27, Austria, 8th seed Diego Schwartzman, 28, Argentina, and 14th seed Milos Raonic, 30, Canada,  reached the third round of Australian Open (AO) 2021 winning their respective second round matches at Melbourne Park, Australia, on February 10, 2021.

World No 1 and winner of 17 Grand Slam singles titles Novak Djokovic beat World No 64 Frances Tiafoe, 23, USA, in four sets 6-3, 6-7, 7-6, 6-3 in second round. Djokovic won 5 break points during the match to 2 by Tiafoe.  The Serbian, in all, won 145 points during the match to 123 by the American. Djokovic hammered 26 Aces in the match to 22 by Tiafoe. The American committed 8 double faults to 5 by the Serbian. Both the players won 1 tie-break each. Djokovic won 4 games in a row in the match to 3 by the American, who gave the World No 1 a run for his money.

Reigning US Open champion Dominic Thiem beat World No 70 Dominik Koepfer, 26, Germany, in straight sets 6-4, 6-0, 6-2 winning 6 break points and 11 games in a row during the match. Thiem fired 7 Aces in the match to just 1 by Koepfer. The Austrian, in all, won 88 points in the match to 53 by the German.

World No 9 Diego Schwartzman beat World No 210 Alexxandre Muller, 24, France, in straight sets 6-2, 6-0, 6-3 in 2nd round. Schwartzman won 9 break points in the match to 2 by Muller. He also won 8 games in a row during the match to 2 by Muller. Muller though fired 5 Aces in gthe match to none by the Argentine.

Raonic beat World No 71 Corentine Moutet, 21, France, in four sets  6-7, 6-1, 6-1, 6-4 rallying back from one set down winning 6 break points. Raonic hammered 26 Aces during the match to 3 by Moutet. The Canadian won 120 points during the match to 81 by Moutet.
