Djokovic, Cilic, Schwartzman & Sandgren enter 4th Round of AO 2020

Patna : Seven-time champion and World No 2 Novak Djokovic, 32, Serbia, 2018 finalist Marin Cilic, 31, Croatia, World No 14 Diego Schwartzman, 27, Argentina, and  World No 100 Tennys Sandgren, 28, USA, entered the 4th round of Australian Open (AO) 2020 at Melbourne Park, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on January 24, 2020.

Defending champion Djokovic beat World No 71 Yoshihito Nishioka, 24, Japan, in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 in 3rd round at Rod Laver Arena winning 5 break points besides winning 7 games in a row. The Serbian hammered 17 Aces in the match to 1 by Nishioka. Djokovic won 54 service points to 41 by the Japanese.

World No 39 Marin Cilic, the 2014 US Open Champion, beat World No 9 Roberto Bautista Agut, 31, Spain, the 9th seed, in a five-set slugfest 6-7, 6-4, 6-0, 5-7, 6-3 in third round at Melbourne Park Arena. Cilic hammered 24 Aces in the match to 8 by Agut. The Croatian won 7 break points in the match to 2 by the Spaniard. Cilic also won 11 games in a row in the match to 3 by Agut. Both the players won 103 service points each in the match.

Schwartzman beat World No 27 Dusan Lajovic, 29, Serbia, in straight sets 6-2, 6-3, 7-6 in 3rd round at Margaret Court Arena. Schwartzman won 7 break points in the match to 4 by Lajovic. He also won 5 games in a row to 3 by Lajovic. Schwartzman won 60 service points to 44 by the Serbian.

Sandgren beat World No 45 Sam Querrey, USA, in straight sets 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to enter the 4th round. Querrey though hammered 15 Aces in the match to 12 by Sandgren. Querrey committed 5 double faults to 4 by Sandgren. The World No 100 won 5 break points in the match to 2 by Querrey. He won 67 service points to 51 by compatriot Querrey. Sandgren had stunned World No 8 Matteo Berrettini, 23, Italy, in 2nd round.
