Devotee take out procession at Ara on Mahavir Jayanti

Ara : Mahavir Jayanti was celebrated with religious fervour at Ara on March 29, 2018. A massive procession was taken out from Sri Shanti Nath Temple, Jail road, that passed through the main thoroughfares of Ara town and culminated on the campus of H D Jain School where  an idol of Lord Mahavir, the 24th and last Tirthankar of Jain community, is installed every year on the Panduk Shila and offered oblation before him.

Braving the scorching sun, hundreds of men, women and children participated in the procession. Youths were drawing the chariot on which ‘Indra-Indrani’ duo was sitting with an idol of Lord Mahvir. Hundreds of devotees thronged both sides of the road and offered ‘aarti’ and sprinkled flower petals on Lord Mahavir.
