Patna : Delhi reached final of limited overs Vijay Hazare Trophy beating Jharkhand by two wickets in a nail bitingĀ semi-finals clash at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on October 18, 2018. Asked to bat first by Delhi who won the toss, Jharkhand were all out for 199 in 48.5 overs with opener Anand Singh scoring 36, middle order batsman Virat Singh 71, and spinner Shahbaz Nadeem 29. Jharkhant captain & wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan was out for a duck
For Delhi, pacer Navdeep Saini took 4/30 while Kulwant Khejroliya and Pranshu Vijayran took two wickets each. Suboth Bhati and Nitish Rana took one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 200, Delhi were 87/4 after 19.4 over and later 149/8 after 37.5 over. Delhi captain and opener Gautam Gambhir made 27 while his opening partner Unmukta Chand was out for 17. Dhurv Shorey scored 15 while Nitish Rana made 39 with 3 fours and a six.
After the fall of 8th wicket Pawan Negi and Navdeep Saini took the charge and added 51 run for the 9th wicket to romp home in 49.4 overs with Delhi reaching 200/8. Negi scored an unbeaten 39 in 49 ball with 4 fours and a six while Saini remained not out on 13 in 38 ball.
Delhi will clash with Mumbai. Mumbai had defeated Hyderabad in the first semi-finals on October 17, 2018.
