Deer run over by train in W Champaran

Bagaha: A grown up female deer was run over and killed by a speeding train between Valmikinagar and Paniyahawa railway stations on Narakatiaganj-Gorakhpur rail section under Samastipur division of the East Central railway on Thursday. Madanpur range officer Valmikinagar tiger reserve (VTR) Anand kumar said that the animal was killed near Alagarna bridge while crossing railway track but the train was yet to be identified. A case will be lodge against the railways for not slowing down the speed trains in areas under the jurisdiction of forest department despite direction of Patna high court, he said.
