DD beat MI by 7 wickets in IPL thriller in Mumbai

Patna : Delhi Daredevils (DD) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 7 wickets in the 9th match of IPL 2018 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, riding on an explosive unbeaten 53 ball 91 with 6 fours and 6 sixes by opener Jason Roy and 25 ball 47 with 6 fours and 2 sixes by Rishabh Pant. DD won the toss but opted to bowl.

MI made 194/7 in 20 overs with openers Surya Kumar Yadav and Evin Lewis scoring 53 and 48 respectively. DD scored 195/3 with Jason Roy scoring the winning run, a single, on the last ball of the 20th over. Shreyas Iyer remained not out on 27 in 20 balls with 3 fours and a six.

MI had lost their first two matches to CSK and KKR respectively by one wicket each. On April 14, the MI lost its third match to DD on the last ball of the 20th over. MI spinner Mayank Markande, who had taken seven wickets in the first two matches, was taken to cleaner by Roy and Rishabh Pant giving away 42 runs in three overs without taking any wicket. Sri Lanka spinner Akila Dhananjay, who leaked 47 runs in 4 overs, took went wicketless. Krunal Pandya took 2/21 in three overs. Allrounder Hardik Pandya, who was out for only 2 runs, gave away 32 runs in 2 overs. Bangladesh bowler Mustafizer Rahman took 1/25 in 4 overs.
