Patna : Electing to bat after winning the toss, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) scored a modest 131/4 in 20 overs in qualifier 1 against Mumbai Indians (MI) at M A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on May 7, 2019, night, with MI spinners: Krunal Pandya, Rahul Chahar, and Jayant Yadav, conceding just 60 runs in 11 overs taking 4 wickets. CSK captain M S Dhoni remained unbeaten on 37 in 29 balls hitting three sixes while Ambati Rayudu remained unbeaten on 42 in 37 balls with 3 fours and a six.

CSK could score just 32 runs in last 3 overs. CSK captain M S Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu added 66 runs in 48 balls. Dhoni hit Lasith Malinga for 2 consecutive sixes in the 19th over.

CSK lost their first wicket that of opener Faf du Plessis at 6. Du Plessis fell to spinner Rahul Chahar for 6. Suresh Raina fell to spinner Jayant Yadav for 5 making it 12/2. Opener Shane Watson fell to spinner Krunal Pandya for 10 and it was 32/3. Murali Vijay fell to Rahul Chahar for 26 making it 65/4.

For MI, Rahul Chahar took 2/14 in 4 overs while Krunal Pandta took 1/21 in 4 overs. Jayant Yadav took 1/25 in 3 overs.
