Patna : Chennai Super Kings (CSK) brushed aside Delhi Capitals (DC) by 6 wickets in the 2nd Qualifier on May 10, 2019, late night, at Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad, to reach IPL-12 final where they will face Mumbai Indians (MI) on May 12, 2019, at Hyderabad. MI have defeated CSK thrice in IPL-12 including Qualifier 1 on May 7, 2019.
Replying to DEC’s modest 147/9 in 20 overs, CSK scored 151/4 in 19 overs with openers Faf du Plessis, South Africa, and Shane Watson, Australia, scoring 50 each and adding 81 run for the first wicket. Du Plessis was declared Player of the Match. CSK had won the toss but opted to bowl.
Faf du Plessis scored 50 in 39 balls with 7 fours and a six while Watson scored 50 in 32 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes. Du Plessis fell to Dc fast bowler Trent Boult making it 81/1 while Watson fell to spinner Amit Mishra making it 109/2. Suresh Raina fell to spinner Axar Patel for 11 making it 127/3. Captain & wicketkeeper M S Dhoni fell to fast bowler Ishant Sharma for 9 and it was 146/4. Ambati Rayudu remained unbeaten on 20 in 20 balls with 3 fours.
Batting first, DC had scored 147/9 with wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant scoring 38 and Colin Munro scoring 27.
