CS, W Champaran, forms 3 squads to check quacks

Bettiah : West Champaran Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr Anil Kumar Sinha on March 17, 2017, constituted three flying squads  each comprising three doctors to prevent Jhola Chhap Doctors (quacks) from fleecing people particularly poor in the rural areas in the name of treating them posing danger to their lives of patients. The three teams will cover three different zones to conduct raids in remote areas.

It has been come to light that the quacks are even running Ultrasonography centres and nursing homes  in remote area and also performing caesarean section in delivery cases besides being involved in female foeticide, a serious  offence and unlawful Act.

The CS also revealed the names of members of one of the three teams. They are : Dr Kiran Shankar Jha, Dr Shankar Rajak and Dr R S Munna. He said that separate letters are being sent to SP, West Champaran, and SP, Bagaha police district, requesting them to co-operate with the three flying squads of doctors. The CS said that the team

of doctors will lodge cases with the police stations concerned against quacks and seal their nursing homes. It has been learnt that a woman and her newborn baby died recently during caesarean section allegedly performed by a quack at Mainatand.
