After this, the state government will take action against the SHOs if liquor is seized under their respective jurisdiction. It has also been decided that such SHOs will not be made SHO again for the next 10 years.

Rohtas SP Manavjeet Singh Dhillon said that all the SHOs have been directed to fill the oath papers by March 25, 2017, and the same will be sent to Police Headquarters.

The state government while enforcing prohibition warned the SHOs of all the police stations of stern action if liquor is seized under their jurisdiction. The Police Headquarters had also suspended 10 SHOs.

Some SHOs said that after liquor ban, they are keeping a close watch on liquor supply chain and sale yet liquor smugglers are still quite active and liquor is smuggled into Bihar from different states. They said that it was not possible to check each and every vehicle on the NH.
