Ara : About a dozen armed miscreants looted Rs 55 lakh cash from South Bihar Gramin Bank, Bazaar Samiti, under Nawada police station, Ara, in Bhojpur District, on November 18, 2019, afternoon, and escaped. Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar and other senior police officials rushed to the spot and police are investigating into the incident. Vehicle checking drive has been launched at all the entries point to nab the miscreants.

SHO, Nawada Police Station, said that around a dozen armed miscreants came in a luxury four- wheeler and entered the South Bihar Gramin Bank, Bazaar Samiti, on November 18 afternoon and looted about Rs 55 lakh from the Bank Safe. The miscreants also fired three rounds inside the bank and attacked the bank manager and two employees of the bank with the rifle butt and injured them. Later, they escaped from the scene.

The Manager of the bank informed police about the bank dacoity. Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar, SDPO Amrish Rahul, ASP (Operations) Nitin Kumar along with other police officials rushed to the spot. The SP sounded alert to all the police stations in the district alert.

SP Kumar said that police are reviewing the CCTV footage to identify the miscreants. He said  that police are conducting raids at different places to arrest the miscreants and added that police would very soon nab the miscreants and recover the looted money.
