Ara : Four armed criminals looted Rs 50,000 cash from Pirauta Branch of Punjab National Bank (PNB) under Muffassil police station (PS) in Bhojpur Dstrict on April 27, 2021, afternoon, and escaped. The miscreants also opened fired and a bullet also hit one of their associates injuring him. Bank employees are assessing amount looted by the criminals.
The miscreants also opened fired and a bullet also hit one of their aides and injured him. Later, the villagers caught him and handed him over to police. The injured miscreant was admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital.
Senior police officers including Bhojpur SP Rakesh Kumar Dubey, Sadar SDPO Pankaj Kumar Rawat, SHO, Ara Muffasil Police Station, Anil Kumar, SHO Nawada police station Sanjeev Kumar, SHO Ara town police station, Shambhu Kumar Bhagat, SHO Krishnagarh police station, rushed to the post and are camping there. Police have cordoned off the area and conducting raids to arrest the miscreants.
Bhojpur SP Rakesh Kumar Dubey said that four armed criminals entered the Punjab National Bank, Pirauta branch, and looted at least Rs 50,000 from the counter. They could not reach to the strong room of the bank due to strong protest by the villagers. Seeing the villagers protesting, the miscreants opened fired and escaped from the scene though the villagers caught one of them who was injured in the firing. The SP said thatpolice are investigating the matter after institution of FIR and conducting raids to arrest the criminals. The SP said that police would succeed in getting clue from the injured criminal.
