Patna : Bike borne armed criminal looted Rs 45 lakh from the cash van of Allahabad Bank near village Nima in Nadwa panchayat under Dhanarua police station in Patna district on August 29, 2017, afternoon, after firing on the guard accompanying the van. The van was going to refill cash into Allahabad Bank’s ATM at village Nima. As soon as the cash van reached near the ATM, the criminals who were apparently waiting for it, attacked the van and looted the cash after firing on the guard. Nima is 31 km away from Patna.

Confirming the loot of Rs 45 lakh from the cash van, Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj said that police had detained five persons including a bank personnel in this connection. The SSP said that although the guard was shot at and injured, he was out of danger. SSP Manu Maharaaj, who visited the place of occurrence after cash loot, said that the Allahabad Bank officials had not informed the local police station that a van was going to village Nima to refill cash into the ATM.

It may mentioned here that a few months back, criminals had looted Rs 60 lakh from cash van on the premises of a bank at Belchhi under Belchhi police station in Patna district.
