Saharsa : Armed bike borne criminals looted Rs 4.5 lakh cash from a Contractor Vijay Bhushan Singh outside the gate of local Head Post-Office under Sadar Police Station, Saharsa, in broad daylight on August 26, 2019, and escaped unchallenged. The CCTV installed near the place of occurrence has captured the image of the criminals and police are looking into the CCTV footage.
Singh had drawn Rs 4.5 lakh cash from SBI Main Branch, Saharsa, and had gone to Head Post-Office to make a draft of Rs 2.6 lakh. As he reached the gate of Head Post-Office with his bag containing the cash after getting down from his Scorpio, bike borne criminals who were waiting there snatched the bag from him, Singh said. Singh said he chased the criminals but they escaped.
SDPO, Saharsa, Prabhakar Tiwary, said that police were trying to identify the criminals through the CCTV footage. The SDPO said that the criminals involved the cash loot would be arrested at the earliest.
