Munger: Armed criminal looted Rs 10 lakh cash on Monday noon at Munger town from two employees of a construction company when they were returning to their office at Belan Bazar under Kasim Bazar police station on a four-wheeler after drawing the amount from Munger branch of Union bank of India.

The managing director of the construction company Niranjan Sharma said that his staff had reached near the office with the cash and the driver of the car parked the vehicle beside the road  in front of the office. One of the staff  Md Aarif, after getting down from the car, had entered the office while driver Rajiv Kumar after locking the car was stepping towards his office carrying the cash with him in the bag when  suddenly two bikers reached there and pounced on him to snatch the bag, he said adding there was a scuffle between the criminals and the driver. The criminals then dragged the driver from near the car and after injuring him snatched the bag from him and escaped on their bike. Sharma said that the cash was drawn for making payment to the employees of the company.

Kashimbazar police have registered an FIR in this connection on the statement of the driver of the car of the construction company The injured driver was discharged after first aid at Munger sadar hospital. SDPO, sadar, LM Sharma said that police were conducting raids to nab the criminals.
