Sitamarhi: Criminals numbering about 25 looted cash and jewellery worth over Rs 3 lakh from the
house of former Mukhia of Raipur Panchayat under Nanpur police station in Sitamarhi district Asha Chaudhary on Saturday night.

The dacoits scaled the courtyard wall of the house and broke open the chest and steel Almirahs. They locked the family members in a room and took control of the house for an hour. Pupri SDPO Pankaj Kumar along with police force rushed to Raipur village in the night  itself but by the time he reached there the dacoits had left the place. Raids are on to nab the dacoits, the SDPO said. But no one has been arrested in this connection so far.

It may be mentioned here that a dacoity was committed at Asha Chaudhary’s house in 2012 too. Meanwhile, the administration has deputed a section of police force at her residence.
