Saharsa: Police arrested one of the four bike criminals who had looted cash from Gita Medical Store, Kosi Chowk, Saharsa, owned by Bhavesh Kumar Singh, at gun point at 11 pm on July 28, 2017. The arrested criminal was identified as Ashish Kumar, who had sustained bullet injury when his revolver went off when they were escaping after looting cash from the medical store located under Sadar police station (PS), Saharsa. The four criminals had reached the medical store riding two bikes sans registration number.
Ashish was arrested when the four criminals were distributing the looted cash among themselves at a house located at Dumrail Chowk on North bypass road. Police led by SDPO Subodh Biswas and SHO, Sadar PS, Bhai Bharat, surrounded the house but three other criminals including Sanjeev Kumar and Amit Kumar managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness. Police arrested Ashish, who hails from village Rajpur under Pipra police station in Supaul district, besides seizing looted cash, a pistol, a Katta and two bikes from there. Ashish has been admitted to Saharsa Sadar hospital, SDPO Biswas said.
