Criminals demand Rs 5 lakh from Mukhia in Buxar

Buxar : Ramesh Thakur, Mukhia, Khiri panchayat under Rajpur block in Buxar district, on  January 30 evening lodged a named FIR with Rajpur police station against three persons: Vinod Kumar Vidyarthi, Sanjeev Saurabh and Mantu Kumar alias Mukesh, charging them with demanding rangdari ( extortion) Rs 5 lakh and firing at the gate his house but no arrest has so far been made in this regard.

Ramesh Thakur, Mukhia, said that about a fortnight ago these persons had demanded rangdari of Rs. 5 lakh and when he objected to it, about half a dozen persons attacked his house and beat up his brother Pintu Thakur with pistol butt and injured him. They also abused on caste line and threatened him with dire consequences if he fails to comply to their demand. Hearing cry of the family members, the villagers rushed to his house. Seeing the villagers the miscreants escaped firing in the air.
