Patna: Bakhtiyarpur BJP MLA Ranvijay Singh alias Lallu Mukhiya on January 25 lodged an FIR  with Bakhtiyarpur police station in Patna district alleging that some criminals had demanded rangdari (extortion) from him. He also alleged that the criminals opened fire at his hotel on Patna-Bakhtiyarpur four-lane when he was present there.

Police said that the MLA said that some persons reached his hotel on Thursday afternoon and asked for some works under MLA’s Fund. When he refused, the criminals pointed pistol at him demanding Rs 5 lakh as extortion. Police said that when MLA’s guard whipped out his firearms, the criminals escaped from there.

When contacted, SP (Rural), Patna,  Lalan Mohan Prasad said that one Sadabrickha Yadav, sarpanch of Ghoshwari panchayat has been arrested in this connection. He said that the incident is fallout of some old rivalry.
