Criminals demand Rs 20 lakh from Muzaffarpur engineer

Muzaffarpur : Criminals have demanded Rs 20 lakh as `Rangdari’  (exortion) from an engineer Prashant Trivedi, a resident of Bawanbigha under Mithanpura police station (PS) in Muzaffarpur district. The criminals have threatened to kill Trivedi if he fails to pay the amount to them.

Police lodged an FIR in this connection on February 21, 2017, night and started investigation into the matter. Town DSP, Muzaffarpur, Ashish Anand, said that the criminal had demanded extortion through a letter and police were probing into the matter. He confirmed the criminals have threatened to kill the engineer if he fails to pay the amount to them. Interestingly, Muzaffarpur police claims that law and order has improved in the district. Police are yet to locate missing Muzaffarpur fertiliser dealer Anil Motani, who is missing for the past one week.
