Patna : A retired Audit Officer Shyam Sunder Prasad, 75, and his wife were attacked and seriously injured by four criminals at their two storey AG Colony residence under Shashtrinagar police station on October 13, 2017, aftertoon. Both of them were admitted to a private hospital where the doctors are awaiting the arrival of their three sons, who work outside Bihar, to take a decision on performing surgery on Prasad.
The criminals banged Prasad’s head several times against the wall of a kitchen located on the first floor causing blood clotting. Earlier, the criminals stabbed Prasad’s wife with a forcep ( Chimta) several times and also tried to strangulate her to death. The SHO, Shashtrinagr police station, said that police arrested one of the criminals, who was caught by the neighbours. The other criminals managed to escape. Police are still clueless as to why the criminals attacked the elderly couple. It was also not clear whether the criminals also looted cash or jewellery from the residence of Prasad.
