Ara : Angry villagers stoned to death a criminal at village Zamira under Ara Muffassil police station in Bhojpur district on June 11, 2017, evening, when he was trying to escape after shooting and injuring a vehicle owner Madan Yadav, 40, son of Chandrika Yadav of Zamira, the same evening. However, another miscreant managed to escape. The deceased was yet to be identified.

Later, police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there but the doctors referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) due to his critical  condition. An FIR has been lodged with Ara Muffassil police station in this connection.

SDPO, Ara,  Sanjay Kumar, said that Madan Yadav runs his Scorpio on rent. On June 11 evening, he was sleeping at his house at Zamira when to two unknown persons came and asked him to book the vehicle for Bakhorapur Kali Temple under Barhara police station on June 13, 2017. As soon as Madan Yadav turned to see the register to confirm the date, the criminals shot at and injured him and escaped. But, the villagers chased and caught one of them and stoned him to death.

The SDPO said that police seized a mobile phone from the possession of the deceased but the arms used in the incident could not be found. He said that police would try to locate another miscreant with the help of mobile phone.
