Bagaha: The CPI(ML) workers on November 22 staged day long dharna at Ambedkar statue, Bagaha, under the leadership of Bhikhari Prasad and raised slogans against the NDA government at the centre and Bihar’s Mahagathabandhan government. Addressing the party workers, leaders including DN Dwedi, Bhikhari Prasad, Naresh Manjhi, Devanarain Mahto, Mahendra Manjhi, Lal Babu Gupta criticized the Modi government at the centre for banning Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination notes saying the farmers, ailing persons, senior citizens were among the worst affected lot. People are forced to postpone the marriage of their children.
Lal Babu Gupta said the poor people are being harassed in the name prohibition and are being heir sent to jail while the liquor dealers were being patronised. He alleged that the liquor was being sold under Ward number 4 and 5 of Nagar Parishad, Bagaha. Later on, a delegation of CPI(ML) leaders led by Bhikhari Prasad handed over a memorandum to SDM, Bagaha, Dharmendar Kumar, demanding homestead land purchas to Gandhinagar, Kailashnagar residents and traditional forest dwellers residing in and around forests area for decades besides implementation of Forest Right Act,.2006.
