Gopalganj: Unidentified criminals shot at a CPI (ML) activist Qadir Ali when he was sleeping outside his house at village Belbanawa under Kuchaikot police station in Gotpalganj district on February 1 night. On getting information,  local police reached the spot and found a cartridge there. An injured Ali was first admitted to primary health centre(PHC) from where he was shifted to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital.

Locals said that Ali was sleeping outside his house as usual and the gate of his house was locked from outside. The family members and the locals woke up after hearing the sound of a bullet. However, by that time the criminals had escaped from there. The local police said that Ali’s family members have not lodged any complaint in this connection. A police team went to Sadar Hospital to record his statement. Later in the day, a large number of CPI (ML) activists reached Sadar Hospital to inquire about the health of injured party activist.
