Patna : COVID-19 cases rose to 1,66,987 in Bihar on September 19, 2020, afternoon, with 1,616 more persons including 263 from Patna, 107 from Araria, 93 from Supaul, 91 from Madhubani, 63 from Nalanda, and 59 from Saharsa, testing positive to it on September 18, 2020.

According to State Health Department figure, 53 persons from Madhepura, 52 from East Champaran, 52 from Gopalganj, 52 from Purnia, 49 from Muzaffarpur, 43 from Saran, 39 from West Champaran, 36 from Begusarai, 36 from Sheikhpura, 32 from Katihar, 32 from Rohtas, 30 from Kishanganj, and 30 from Vaishali also tested positive to COVID-19 in the state on September 18, 2020.

Of the 1,66,987 COVID cases reported so far in Bihar, a total of 1,52,956 patients have been declared cured including 1,556 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 91.60 %. The state has tested 55,23,825 COVID samples till date including 1,24,332 samples on September 18, 2020. The number of active cases in the state was 13,169 on September 19, 2020. Patna has reported 25,356 COVID cases till date of which 23,254 have been declared cured.

The COVID-19 death toll increased to 861 on September 19 with two new deaths being reported in the state – one each from Begusarai and Sitamarhi.
