Patna : COVID-19 cases surged to 1,26,990 in Bihar on August 26, 2920, as 2,163 more persons including 339 from Patna, 132 from East Champaran, 124 from Muzaffarpur, 117 from Araria, tested positive to it on August 25, 2020.
According to State Health Department Sources, 97 person from Saran, 97 persons from Madhubani, 93 from Purnia, 76 from Begusarai, 73 from Bhagalpur, 68 from Gaya, 62 from Katihar, 56 from Sitamarhi, 56 from Bhojpur, 51 from Saharsa, 49 from Supaul, 48 from Kishanganj, 48 from Vaishali, 46 from Samastipur, 37 from Rotas, 36 from Nalanda, 36 from Gopalganj, also tested positive for COVID on August 25, 2020.
Of the 1,26,990 COVID-19 cases in Bihar, 1,06,765 patients have been declared cured/discharged including 2,234 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 84.07%. The number of active cases in the state stands at 19, 571. A total of 26,72,687 COVID samples have been tested in the state till date including 102590 on August 25, 2020.
The COVID-19 death toll jumped 653 in Bihar on August 26, 2020, with nine new deaths being reported in last 24 hours, all from Patna. The toll has increased to 144 in Patna.
