Patna : The COVID-19ncases rose to 1,15,210 in Bihar on August 20, 2020, as 2,451 persons including 367 from Patna, 174 from Muzaffarpur, 141 from Madhubani, and 102 from Katihar tested positive to it on August 19, 2020.
According to State Health Department Sources, 99 persons from Saran, 97 from Begusarai, 90 from East Champaran, 78 from Aurangabad, 77 from Purnia, 76 from Bhagalpur, 67 from Saharsa, 65 from Nalanda, 61 from Bhojpur, 58 from Gaya, 58 from Madhepura, 58 from Sitamarhi, and 52 from Samastipur also tested COVID positive on August 19, 2020.
Of the 1,15,210 COVIS cases in the state, 88,163 patients have been declared cured in the state till date including 3,585 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 76.52 %. The number of active cases in Bihar was 26,472 on August 20, 2020.
The COVID death toll, on the other hand,jumped to 574 in Bihar on August 20, 2020, with six new deaths being reported from different places during last 24 hours including two from Patna, and one each from Darbhanga, Vaishali, Sitamarhi, and Katihar. Altogether 20 doctors have died due to Coronavirus in Bihar till date. The COVID toll increased to 116 in Patna on August 20, 2020.
