Patna : The Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,415 in Bihar on January 5, 2021, seven new deaths were recorded in the state in last 24 hours including 5 in Patna and one each in Darbhanga and Begusarai. The toll climbed to 387 in Patna on January 5, 2021.
The number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Bihar so far rose to 2,54,689 on January 5, 2021, as 411 more persons including 131 from Patna and 74 from Aurangabad tested positive to the Pandemic on January 4, 2021.
According to State Health Department date, 16 persons each from Muzaffarpur and Nalanda, 15 from Begusarai, 12 each from Vaishali and Lakhisarai, 11 from Samastipur, 10 from Saran, 9 from Darbhanga, 8 from Saharsa, 7 each from Bhagalpur, Rohtas, and Gaya, 6 each from Banka, Bhojpur, Sheohar, and Sitamarhi, 5 each from Khagaria, Madhepura, and Supaul, and 4 each from Arwal, East Champaran, Jehanabad, and Katihar, also tested positive to Covid-19 on January 4, 2021.
Of the 2,54,689 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in Bihar, a total of 2,49,096 patients have been declared cured including 456 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.8 %. Bihar has tested 1,87,97,683 samples so far including 95,019 samples on January 4, 2021. The number of active cases in Bihar was 4,177 on January 5, 2021.
