Cori Gauff jumps 39 places in WTA rankings, Watson jumps 37 places

Patna : Ashleigh Barty ( 7,096 points), Karolina Pliskova (5,940 points), Naomi Osaka (5.621 points), Elina Svitolina (5,495 points), and Biance Andreescu (5,041 points), remain World No 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 respectively in the WTA rankings released on October 14, 2019.

Cori Gauff, 15, USA, has jumped 39 places to be ranked World No 71 with 854 points after winning her first WTA singles title at Linz, Austria, last week, defeating 2017 French Open Champion Jelena Ostapenko, 22, Latvia. Jelena Ostapenko has jumped 9 places to be ranked World N0 63 with 970 points.

Heather Watson, 27, Great Britain, has jumped 37 places to be ranked World No 88 with 698 points after reaching the final of WTA Tianjin Open in China last week. Rebecca Peterson, 24, Sweden, has jumped 15 places to be ranked World No 44 with 1,275 points after winning the Tianjin Open title defeating Watson in the final. Camila Giorgi, 27, Italy, has slipped 29 places and is ranked World No 92 with 680 points.

India No 1 Ankita Raina, 26, has slipped one position to be ranked World No 190 with 316 points.  But, Pranjala Yadlapalli, 22, Kndia, has slipped 82 places to be ranked World No 422 with 99 points.
