Munger: Foolproof security for the Kanwariyas passing through Munger district will be ensured during the month long Shrawani mela starting from July 20. Munger SP Ashish Bharti on Monday said that more than 1,000 policemen will be on mela duty to tackle anti- social elements.
The SP said that some policemen will be moving on the road in Kanwariya dress with their baggage to nab the anti- social elements who get active to rob the devotees of their cash and other belongings. Women police will also play their role in disguise so that the journey of the Kanwariyas is hassle free this year. Munger district administration has fixed rates of edible items and hoteliers and vendors charging excess price will be booked by the police, he added.
