Ara: Senior Divisional Operation Manager (SDOM), East Central Railway, Vinit Kumar, on Sunday said the success of Digital India programme will solve all problems of the railways. The railways is working not only for passengers’ satisfaction but their delight, he said.

Talking to the mediapersons at Ara railway station, the SDOM said that construction of a foot over bridge (FOB) with lift and escalator at Ara railway station will start soon as tender formalities for the same had been completed. Ara railway station has been announced to be developed as ideal railway station and has been give ‘A’ grade as it generates a revenue of Rs. 3 crore per month and all facilities needed for an ideal station is provided. Video conferencing inquiry and National Trains Enquiry System have been installed at Ara railway station for the benefit of passengers and all facilities for differently abled persons have also been provided here.

The SDOM said that CCTV for PRS and UTS has been installed at Ara, Buxar, Jamui, Kiul, Mokama, Bakhtiarpur, Patna Saheb and Rajendra Nagar stations and connectivity provided for online booking of retiring room at Ara, Patna Saheb, Jehanabad, Bakhtiarpur, Rajgir, Kiul, Sheikhpura, Mokama and Buxar railway stations under Danapur rail division. Besides, works sanctioned for development of circulating areas and improvements of surfaces and extensions of platforms to accommodate 24 LHB coaches trains at Raghunathpur, Bihia and Bihta railway stations. The platform surface has been raised, widened and improved at Raghunathpur and Bihia under Danapur rail division. He took serious note of lack of cleanliness on Ara station premises and slapped a fine of Rs. 10,000 on the person responsible for keeping the station premises clean.
