Ara : Rotary Club of Ara Central organised a day long Congenital Heart Disease detection camp on the campus of local Anand Clinic on September 30, 2018. At least 150 patients were examined and 53 children were detected having heart problem.
Dr Deepak, district president, Rotary Club of Ara Central, said that the children in the ageĀ group of 6 month to 18 year were examined at the camp free of cost. He said a team of doctors from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, will again examine the 53 children identified as congenital heart disease cases at the camp at a private Patna Hospital on October 2, 2018, and will decide whom to operate and who needed only medicine. He said the patients along with an attendant will be sent to Kochi for operation free of cost.
Even medicine, lodging and other facilities will also be provided free of cost, said Dr Deepak. He said operation for heart diseases cost at least Rs 5 lakh but Rotary Club of Ara Central 3250 is bearing all cost to be incurred on the operation, food, lodging, medicine and travelling cost. R S Tiwari, Treasurer, Punita Kumari, Secretary, Manish Prasad, Rajesh Kumar Prasad and others volunteered their services at the camp while Dr K N Sinha examined all the patients.
