Cong MLA Sanjay Tiwari revolts against CLP leader

Patna : Congress MLA from Buxar Sanjay Kumar Tiwari alias Munna Tiwari on March 5, 2018, raised a banner of revolt against Congress legislature party (CLP) leader Sadanand Singh within than a week of the party suffering a split in Bihar legislative council with four of its MLCs led by former BPCC Chief Ashok Chaudhary joining the ruling JD(U).

The Buxar MLA accused CLP leader Sadanand Singh of weakening the party in the state and said he will be visiting Delhi after the conclusion of the state legislature session next month to apprise the high command of the situation in the state unit. Tiwari while alleging that CLP leader Singh was weakening the party in the state cited the example of Bhabhua assembly by-poll in this connection and said he secured the party ticket for Shambhu Patel, who has not been a long-time Congress worker. What was the point in fielding an OBC candidate from a Brahmin-dominated seat, Tiwari asked?

By-polls will be held for Bhabhua and Jahanabad assembly seats as well as Araria Lok Sabha constituency on March 11, 2018. Congress is only contesting from Bhabhua constituency, where the by-election was necessitated following the death of sitting BJP MLA Anand Bhushan Pandey. The BJP has fielded Anand Bhushan Pandey’s wife Rinky Pandey from the seat. The RJD is contesting the Jehanabad Assemly seat and Araria Lok Sabha seat.

Tiwari, however, said that he is with the Congress and has no plan to switch sides. But I will be failing in my duty if I remain quiet in the face of what is happening in Bihar unit of the party, the Buxar MLA said. The Congress has 27 Members in Bihar Assembly.
