Confectioner dies in accident at Ara

Ara : A confectioner (halwai) Shatrughan Prasad, son of Nagina Sao of  village Belwania under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district died on April 27, 2018, when his motorcycle collided with an electric pole on the roadside in Dhanupura locality under Town police station, Ara. He was going to prepare sweets and food for a marriage party at village Sakaddi under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district.

SHO, Ara Town police station, said that Shatrughan Prasad lived in a rented house in  Bihari Mill locality under Nawada police station, Ara, with his wife Meena. He had got contract for making sweetmeats and food for a marriage at Sakaddi under Koelwar police station and was going there on his motorcycle when the incident took place. The SHO said had he been wearing a helmet ailmate, he would have survived.

The local residents said that ‘road safety week’ is observed across the country but the officials of the transport department and police remain lax in this regard and people are also not following the traffic rules.
