Ara : A complaint case was filed in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ara,  against Sony Entertainment 0Channel, former cricketer Navjot Singh Siddhu, comedian Kapil Sharma and playback singer Sonu Nigam on January 10, 2017.

Prabhat Kumar Singh, national president, Bhojpuria Sena, said that in the programme at Sony Entertainment Channel ‘Kapil Sharma Show’ on December 10, 2016, a youth from Ara who was present in the programme was invited on the stage and was asked as to what was the most popular thing of Ara. But the former cricketer Navjot Singh Siddhu said that thug of Varanasi and daaku of Ara are very much famous while comedian Kapil Sharma and playback singer Sonu Nigam, who were present in the show, kept silent and thus supported Siddhu. The youth from Ara objected to the comment but no one listened to him. Singh said that the comment was a slur on the people of  Ara and Bhojpuria Society. He also presented video footage of the programme in the court as witness.
