Patna : Director of Gyanam, a coaching institute, Durgesh Kumar, was shot at and injured allegedly by one Kunal Sharma in Doctors’ Colony under Patnakarnagar police station, Patna, at 5. 45 pm on September 7, 2017. The bullet hit Durgesh’s leg.
Durgesh was first rushed to aprivate hospital where the doctor attending him referred him to Patna Medical Collge Hospital (PMCH). Durgesh was taking a stroll on the road outside his coaching institute when Kunal reached there and fired on him.
Confirming the incident, SHO, Patnakarnagar police station, said that Kunal fired on Durgesh. The SHO said that Durgesh and Kunal were involved in a dispute for the last six months. The SHO suspects that `Rangdari’ ( extortion amount) demand from Dugesh could be the reason behind firing on him by Kunal. But, Durgesh never informed police about the Rangdari demand from him, the SHO added. Durgesh hails from Ghosi area in Jehanabad district. Police are yet to arrest the accused, who also hails from the same district.
