Ara : A class XII student met his watery grave in river Ganga at Bakhorapur under Barhara police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on February 28, 2022, while taking a dip in the river.
Police got the post-mortem done at Sadar Hospital, Ara. The deceased was identified as Nikhil Kumar, son of a school teacher Chandra Prakash Kumar of Janakpuri locality under Nawada PS, Ara. Chandra Prakash Kumar is originally a resident of Wahilwaar Bhual Uttari village under Sariaya PS in Muzaffarpur District in North Bihar.
SHO, Barhara PS, said that Nikhil Kumar along with his friends Bittu Kumar, Jigar Kumar, and Anurag Kumar, had gone to Bakhorapur to take a dip in river Ganga. But, they did not know the depth of the river and so Nikhil Kumar drowned in the river. His friends Jigar Kuamr, Bittu Kumar, and Anurag Kumar, tried to rescue him. Bittu Kumar and Jigar Kumar also began to drown but the locals present there, somehow rescued them but could not rescue Nikhil Kumar. Later, they fished out his body and brought it over to the Sadar Hospital, Ara.
Chandra Prakash Kumar said that he had asked Nikhil Kumar not to go to Bakhorapur but he did not obey and went there with his friends and at last the news of his death came.
