World Number 7 in the BWF rankings, Chou Tien Chen, Chinese Taipei, defeated Quao Bin, China, 23-12, 21-16 in the semi-finals on February 3 while World Number 8 Shi Yuqui, China, beat unseeded Iskandar Zukarnain, Malaysia, in a three-set thriller 18-21, 21-10, 21-19 the same day to enter the final.
