Patna : Chen Yu Fei, 21, China, remains World No 1 in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released on January 14, 2020, after winning the Malaysia Masters title last week. Chen has 98,265 points while Tai Tzu has 95,775 points. Akane Yamaguchi, Japan, is World No 3 with 88,650 points while 2017 World Champion Naomi Okuhara, Japan,  is World No 4 with 87,186 points. Ratchanok Intanon, Thailand is World No 5 with 75,335 points.

World Champion P V Sindhu, INdia, remains World No 6 with 72,914 points while He Bing Jiao, China, is World No 7 with 70,140 points. Michelle Li, Canada, is World N0 8 with 61,405 points. A N Se Young, South Korea, is World No 9 with 60,750 points while reigning Olympic Champion and three -time former World Champion Carolina Marin, Spain, is World No 10 with 58,220 points. Saina Nehwal also remains World No 11 with 58, 557 points.
