Patna : Two-time World Champion Kento Momota, 25, Japan, who was injured in an accident after winning the Malaysia Masters title on January 12, 2020, remains World No 1 with 1,11,918 points in theĀ  BWF rankings released on January 14, 2020. Chou Tien Chen, Chinese Taipei, also remains World No 2 with 80,548 points. But, Anders Antonsen, Denmark, has jumped 1 place to be ranked World No 3 with 77,600 points.

Viktor Axelsen, Denmark, the 2017 World Champion, has also jumped 1 place to be ranked World No 4 with 77,168 points after reaching the final of Malaysia Masters last week. But, reigning Olympic Champion Chen Long, China, has slipped 2 places to be ranked World No 5 with 76,880 points. Asian Games Champion Jonatan Christie, Indonesia, remains World No 6 with 73,640 points. Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Indonesia, also remains World No 7 with 72,562 points while N G Ka Long Angus, Hong Kong, has jumped 1 place to be ranked World No 8 with 64,702 pointsafter reaching the SFs of Malaysia Masters. Shi Yu Qi, China, has slipped 1 place to be rankedĀ  World No 9 with 64,521 points while Kenta Tsuneyama, Japan, is World No 10 with 57,098 points.

B Sai Praneeth, India, remains World No 11 with 55,970 points while Kidambi Srikanth, India, remains World No 12 with 54,400 points. But, Parupalli Kashyap, India, has slipped 2 places to be ranked World No 25 with 42,940 points. H S Prannoy, India, has slipped 1 place to be ranked World No 27 with 41,135 points while Sourabh Verma, India, remains World No 28 with 39,669 points.

But, Sameer Verma, India, younger brother of Sourabh, has jumped 4 places to be ranked World No 29 with 38,319 points. Lakshya Sen, India, has jumped 2 places to be ranked World No 30 with 37,420 points. Subhankar Dey, India, remains World No 45 with 31,730 points. Ajay Jayaram, India, has jumped 4 places to be ranked World No 64 with 23,930 points.
