Patna : Third seed Chen Yu Fei, 21, China, defeated 5th seed Ratchanok Intanon, 24, Thailand, the 2013 World Champion, in a three-game thriller in final to lift the women’s singles title at Yonex-Sunrise Hong Kong OpenSuper 500 event, at Hong Kong on November 17, 2019.
All England Open champion and World No 3 Chen Yu Fei beat World No 5 Ratchanok Intanon 21-18, 18-21, 21-13 at Hong Kong Coliseum, Hong Hong, in 65 minutes in final to win the title and 9,200 Badminton World Federation (BWF) ranking points plus the prize money. Intanon got 7,800 rankings points plus the prize money.
Chen won 55 rallies in the match to 52 by Intanon. The Chinese won 6 consecutive points in the match to 5 by the Thai. Chen now leads Intanon 11-2 Head to Head.
